The sports world is buzzing about LeBron James breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabber’s NBA all-time scoring record of 38,387 career points. With the record in sight and anticipated ever since LeBron joined the Lakers in 2018, it’s surprising that major sports cards brands have not created basketball cards with the two iconic Lakers on the same card.
The only trading card we could find with both players is the 2009 Upper Deck SP Game Used “Multi Marks Triple” Autograph card of LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Dominque Wilkins. It is limited to just 10 copies in existence and serial numbered /10. The last recorded sale of the card was in February, 2023, for $3,800 on eBay.

It wouldn’t be shocking for Panini — and eventually Fanatics when they take over NBA cards licensing from Panini in 2026 — to create a few commemorative cards of the two Lakers Legends after the record is broken. After all, Upper Deck and Panini have issued several cards of Kobe Bryant and Kareem on the same card. Here are a few:
- 2008 SPX Triple Scripts Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West /25 (pictured)
- 2016 Immaculate Dual Autographs Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant /49
- 2003 SP Authentic Dual Signatures Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Beckett Basketball Magazine did a better job properly enticing collectors and sports fans with their April 2018 issue showing both players and the title reading King vs. Kareem: Can LeBron take the scoring crown?

That all being said, sports card collectors can find solace in knowing that LeBron and Kareem appeared in several basketball card sets since LeBron James joined the NBA in 2003. Below we have listed some of the more popular cards.
- 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection “Extra Exquisite” LeBron James (#LJ), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (#KA)
- 2004 SP Authentic LeBron (#14), Kareem (#105)
- 2004 Topps Finest LeBron (#23) base pictures, Kareem (#140) Blue X-fractor pictured
- 2005 Upper Deck Ultimate Signatures LeBron (#USLJ), Kareem (#USKA)
- 2012 Panini Prizm, one of the most popular sets of the last decade
- Lebron #1, Kareem #159 (Silver Prizm variants pictured)
- 2015 Donruss Scoring Kings Lebron (#20), Kareem (#15) /199 variant pictured
Summary
While there is only one card in the market featuring both LeBron and Kareem on it, fans can collect cards from several different sets that contain both players across varying price levels. For example, the Donruss Scoring Kings inserts are much cheaper than the 2012 Prizms or autograph cards. In general, you will find Kareem’s post-career cards are more accessible than LeBron’s.
To find additional cards like the ones shown above, head to eBay.com and search “2003 lebron psa” or “2004 kareem jabbar bgs” to compare different listings. You can try similar searches for both players to find sets with both players in them and use the psacard.com population reports to research further.
